Real Estate Flood Disclosure Program

To participate in the Real Estate Disclosure Program, complete the聽Real Estate Disclosure brochures for the properties you are representing and provide them to your clients, then submit them via the online form.

Real estate agents are in an ideal position to inform buyers about a property’s flood risk and if flood insurance is required. The 新澳门六合彩 Real Estate Flood Disclosure Program is a joint effort between the County and its real estate professionals, through the Pinellas Realtor Organization (PRO), which covers the entire county, including its municipalities.

There are three main components to the program:

  • Flood Information and Disclosure Brochure, which includes a fillable section for real estate professionals to enter the property’s flood risk, evacuation level and insurance requirement information.
  • , containing all of the information needed to complete the brochure.
  • , providing instruction about how to use the online  to obtain flood information and how to complete the brochure. Training sessions, taught by County staff in coordination with PRO twice a year, also cover flood hazards, flood zones, evacuation zones, property protection, building regulations, preparedness and flood insurance.

Real estate professionals provide completed brochures to clients to advise them about the flood hazard and flood insurance purchase requirements.

Coastal Barrier Resources Act (CBRA)

The Coastal Barrier Resources Act (CBRA) and its amendments prohibit most new federal expenditures that tend to encourage the development or modification of coastal barriers. The main prohibition affecting property owners is the prohibition on federal flood insurance. Examples of prohibited federal assistance within System units include subsidies for road construction, channel dredging and other coastal engineering projects.

Federal flood insurance through the is available in a CBRS unit if the building was constructed (or permitted and under construction) before the CBRS unit’s effective date. If an existing insured structure is substantially improved or damaged, the federal flood insurance policy will not be renewed.
